Meditation and Stress Management

Last month at Breathe Salt & Sauna, I attended the Gentle Stretching Meditation Class and the Stress Management Workshop. I had never tried meditation or stress management prior to these experiences. Stesha Larson from Abundant Joy Yoga guided the meditation class. Heidi Lindsey led the Stress Management Workshop. Both ladies were extremely qualified and passionate about what they were teaching. It was obvious that they truly cared about the subject matter, and that it was important to them to make sure that everyone was enjoying and benefiting from their classes. Just realizing that made me appreciate them even more! In the meditation class, Stesha taught us how to regulate our breathing to calm our bodies down. She then took us on a journey about morals. She guided our minds, as far as where to go and where to stay concentrated. This class was more than a stress reliever. It helped me observe my own life and ask myself if my inner younger self actually liked where it was going. The majority of the meditation concentrated on our “child self.”  We all have an inner child, but when we were children, we didn’t stress over things that we do as adults, and […]

The Breathe SOLE Starter Jar

The Breathe SOLE Starter Jar (pronounced SO-LAY) The great Roman poet, Horace, wrote in an ode, “Carpe diem.” It means to seize the day or to live life to the fullest, and be happy and healthy while doing so. “Healthy” didn’t mean the same in Ancient Rome as it does now. Our caloric intake and hours spent at the gym are only a partial measure of our health. The other important factors are defined by how much we love our lives, bodies, and the people we surround themselves with — similar to the way the Romans lived. SOLE salt-infused water can help your body feel motivated to seize the day! SOLE is so beneficial to your body that just one teaspoon a day can dramatically help your body heal, energize and detox. The crystals in the jar are concentrated Himalayan salt stones, which speed up your body’s healing process. Why is SOLE salt-infused water good for your body?    It contains mineral-rich nutrients. In the same way that Vitamin D provides energy through the sun, SOLE provides energy through its salt stones. It’s 100 percent natural.  It contains no harsh chemicals or preservatives, so you can use it to cleanse your face.  […]

Amazing Benefits for Teens

Written by a teenager with first-hand salt & sauna experience! Leonardoda Vinci once said, “Every now and then, go away, have a little relaxation, for when you comeback to your work, your judgment will be surer.” During the teenage years, the mind and body is under stress from all the everyday things.  These years, when someone is not a child, but not yet an adult, can be a challenging and stressful time.  Fortunately, there is a place that can make the stress go away — Breathe Salt & Sauna. Salt therapy (Halotherapy) provides isolation in a stress-free environment in a salt room. Pharmaceutical-grade salt is circulated into the room, providing antibacterial and anti-inflammatory benefits. The infrared saunas, combined with chromotherapy (color light therapy), can reduce stress and anxiety by balancing the body’s level of cortisol, the primary stress hormone. The heat also helps the body’s muscles relax, which naturally reduces stress. Anything that can help teens during this time is worth checking out, right? Ways salt therapy and infrared saunas can improve the lives of teens: Reduce stress levels. There is no doubt that high school is difficult to handle with the pressure of college a few years or months away, tensions […]

New 3 Session Passes Now Available

Here at Breathe Salt & Sauna we are excited to be introducing our new 3 Session Pass. This pass allows people the chance to see if the halotherapy (salt therapy) or infrared saunas are going to provide the benefits they are looking for. We have found that for some people the benefits are immediate, after the first session, and for others, it may take two or three sessions. 3 Session Passes can be purchased one time for use in our infrared saunas and one time for the halotherapy (salt therapy) to be used in our family room, adult meditation room, or salt booth. Listen to Jen as she shares her experience at Breathe and the results she experienced after just three sessions. The 3 Session Salt Pass is $75 and must be used within 15 days of purchase. Health-Wellness-Faith Support Group

Have you been diagnosed with an illness and don’t know where to turn? Have you looked up your condition online only to become more confused? Do you want to prevent a diagnosis that runs in the family? Have you watched a loved one go through cancer or some other debilitating disease or illness and you want to learn about the best steps to take to avoid getting the same diagnosis? Are you a caregiver for someone who is in a health crisis, and you don’t know where to turn? Health–Wellness–Faith is a support group that meets once a month to provide support no matter where you are on the journey. Maybe you went with the holistic approach. Or perhaps you have done a little of both. It doesn’t matter because we discuss what steps we are taking to get control of our own health. We also talk about how to be well and bring balance to our lives. If you have been through diagnosis and are in remission, we welcome you, […]

Infrared Saunas and Cancer: Laurie’s Story

I heard the three words nobody wants to hear — “You have cancer.” What? How could this be?  Just five days earlier, I was having my mammogram done.  They had told me something “didn’t look right,” so they wanted me to have an ultrasound.  I had been down this road many times before because of my dense breast tissue, so I thought, “Okay.  Not a big deal.” After the ultrasound, the doctor came in the room and said, “Something doesn’t look right. There are three spots we would like to biopsy.” Okay.  Now they had me a little worried.  I got the dreaded call late in the day on a Friday afternoon.  “You have invasive ductal carcinoma, (IDC).” What? Had I heard that right? Yes, unfortunately, I had and it sent my mind reeling down the path of, “How did this happen?” There was no family history.  I had led a relatively healthy life and exercised on a regular basis.  Up until that point, I had not been prescribed any medications, but at every doctor appointment following my diagnosis, they would take my blood pressure once and then take it again, because they could not believe how high it was. Finally, my general practitioner said, “Sorry, Laurie, but I cannot let you leave the office without putting you on a prescription for high blood pressure.”     So he prescribed me two medications […]

Asthma & Allergies: Jon’s Story

I am Jon Adams, my wife Laurie and I own Breathe Salt and Sauna in Johnson Creek. I suffer from allergies and asthma and have all of my life. When I was younger, I needed to undergo Cortizone shots to get my allergies and asthma under control. I had a nebulizer, (breathing machine) took prescription medications, and used inhalers as well. I would try anything to bring relief. My mother would put me in the shower for long periods of time letting the steam open my airways. I did not like to be outdoors, and cutting the grass was out of the question. My allergies and asthma have improved as the years have gone by, or maybe I have just adapted better to it. Regardless, I still suffer. In October of 2017, Laurie was doing some research and told me about Salt Therapy (Halotherapy). I thought, how can that work? Well, in November my Asthma acted up like it always does in the fall of the year. I knew I needed to go in for a breathing treatment because I was losing lung capacity. I remembered what Laurie was telling me about Halotherapy and decided to try that first. At […]
